Founders Glenn and Danette Miller began their careers in building materials in the 1970s, learning the business from the ground up in drywall, plaster, and distribution.
After relocating to Arizona in 1980 and gaining valuable leadership experience, they took the next step—launching their first lumber company in 1983. A decade later, with years of hands-on knowledge and a clear vision for the future, they founded Miller Wholesale Lumber Company in July of 1993.
From the beginning, the company was built with a simple goal: provide contractors with reliable materials, honest service, and a partner they could count on. What started as a family-driven business has grown into a trusted lumber supplier serving the Phoenix area and beyond, supporting projects of every size—from residential homes to large-scale commercial builds.

Meet the team
Mathis Miller has been immersed in the construction and lumber industry his entire life, gaining firsthand insight into what contractors need from a reliable supplier. As the son of Glenn and Danette Miller, he developed a deep understanding of the importance of strong client partnerships, quality materials, and dependable service from an early age.
Mathis officially joined Miller Wholesale Lumber in 2019, bringing with him a background in sales and technology that strengthened the company’s operations and customer experience. Over the years, he has built extensive experience as a lumber sales specialist, buyer, and team leader, helping drive growth and efficiency across the organization.
In July 2025, Mathis stepped into the role of President of Miller Wholesale Lumber, continuing the company’s commitment to serving contractors with consistency, reliability, and a forward-thinking approach

Ryan McAllister brings extensive experience in the construction and building materials industry, with a strong focus on supporting contractors through reliable service and consistent supply. His hands-on knowledge and practical approach have made him a trusted resource for customers and team members alike.
Since joining Miller Wholesale Lumber in 2018, Ryan has played a key role in strengthening operations and maintaining the high standards the company is known for. His experience spans customer service, material coordination, and day-to-day operations, giving him a well-rounded understanding of the business.
As Vice President, Ryan oversees financial operations, helping ensure the company runs efficiently while continuing to support its growth. He is committed to building lasting relationships with contractors by delivering dependable service, clear communication, and the materials they need to keep their projects moving forward

Patrick Cox has been a valued member of Miller Wholesale Lumber since 2006, bringing nearly two decades of experience in yard operations and logistics. Over the years, he has developed a comprehensive understanding of the business, with hands-on experience in receiving, accounts payable, and day-to-day operations.
As Director of Yard Operations & Dispatch, Patrick oversees the coordination of materials and delivery, ensuring orders are handled efficiently and arrive on time. His leadership and attention to detail play a critical role in keeping operations running smoothly.
Known for his strong management style and team-first approach, Patrick has built a loyal and motivated yard team that takes pride in their work. Customers value his experience and reliability, trusting him to ensure their materials are delivered accurately and on schedule

Ed Cox brings more than 35 years of hands-on experience in the lumber industry, with a deep understanding of every facet of the business. Since joining Miller Wholesale Lumber in 1994, he has been instrumental in the company’s growth and is recognized as one of its top producers.
Over the course of his career, Ed has worked across the industry—from yard operations to sales and estimating—building a well-rounded expertise that informs his leadership today. He currently oversees and directs the sales team and manages his own customer base.
Ed has also implemented cost-saving strategies that have improved efficiency across the yard and broader operations. His leadership has been pivotal in building and developing the company’s sales team, creating a strong foundation for continued success.

Jeff “Danger” Miller joined Miller Wholesale Lumber in 2020, bringing over 15 years of customer service experience and a strong foundation in the construction industry. Starting as a new lumber salesman, Jeff quickly earned the respect of both his teammates and customers through his work ethic, determination, and commitment to service.
Known for his energy and reliability, Jeff takes pride in making sure every customer is taken care of. His passion for the construction industry and dedication to doing the job right have made him a valuable part of the Miller Wholesale Lumber team

Jacob Wayne brings over 10 years of sales experience to Miller Wholesale Lumber, along with a strong background in business management as a graduate of Arizona State University. A Mesa native, Jacob understands the local market and the needs of contractors across the Valley.

As a certified legal document preparer, she has extensive expertise in mechanic’s liens and construction collections, helping protect both the company and its customers throughout the lifecycle of a project.
Since joining Miller Wholesale Lumber in 2021, Jill has played a key role in strengthening the company’s financial processes and office operations. She successfully coordinated the company’s software transition and continues to support the team with IT and technical systems behind the scenes.
